Well, that was embarrassing. I hadn’t played the AI for a while, as I was waiting until I’d written a better version for display. Anyway, I tried a game against the 5×5000* and, due to not paying attention, I lost.
He lulled me into a false sense of security, making several repeated plays on vertical columns. I had 4 reactionary wins** set up and was working on the fifth when I accidentally set HIM up to win with a diagonal.
OK, that’s it. It shouldn’t take me too long to set up a graphical version of the game, and then we’ll see who wins.
Here’s the game: Human vs 5×5000 2017 03 13
*Side note, the 5×5000 wasn’t in the lead in the rankings.
Currently, the Round Robin Tournament top 5 are:
- 4×5000 (46 wins)
- 3×500 (43 wins)
- 5×1000 (42 wins)
- 5×2500 (42 wins)
- 4×2500 (41 wins)
The 5×5000 actually ranked 13th out of 30.
**Reactionary Win is what I’m calling a setup where if my opponent plays in column 2, I can then play in column 2 on top of him and win.
